About The Artwork
This painting was started in front of a crowd of a few thousand people at Beloved Festival in 2018. It was improvised live with only a vague notion of what it was going to be. The painting to me represents the rebirth and reconstruction of a being. The orbs represent different aspects of spirit working in conjunction with the elements to carve out and give shape to this new being. Like the Phoenix, it is being reborn from the ashes of its past.

I'm an American artist, designer and writer living in the greater Seattle area of Washington State. I studied commercial art in Seattle in the early 90s. Although I had an introduction to painting at this time, I'm mostly self-taught. I have works in both oil and acrylic and I'm a skilled draftsman who mastered pencil and pen drawings early on. The creative process is my passion and my way to connect to spirit. My paintings are love letters to the mysterious spirit of nature. The animals, trees and plants that I paint all aim to illustrate the mystical essence of life.
