The Grumman F6F Hellcat replaced the earlier Wildcat in 1943 with an updated design. The plane out-paced the Mitsubishi A6M Zero and compared well to the Corsair, but the Corsair had some difficulties landing on aircraft carriers. This image wants to jump out of the frame. You can almost hear that radial engine!

I began drawing when I was about five years old. I can remember how fascinated I was with fingerpaints and how the colors blended as I smeared my hands through the greasy paints.
