"Holding onto Hope" is a mixed media on 100% cotton rag, archival, acid free paper. This is a figurative (female) image. This is an encaustic technique, using pigment and wax. The paper measures approximately 30" x 22" I would crop in on the paper to reveal an image of approximately 27" x 20" through the opening in a mat. This is one in a series of my Hope pieces using the Paper Crane imagery. The female is in a seated position and the crane comes into greater focus, the paper crane is the symbol of hope and healing in challenging times. So I allowed the figure to become part of the negative space in areas or partially dissolve to keep the focus on the crane. Enjoy, this uses almost the full extent of the archival paper. Add a deep mat of 5 - 6" or more and then your frame. This piece does require glass. It is an encaustic using wax and pigment. Fine art never should be displayed in direct sunlight or near a heat source. Just enjoy, as her foot then shadow lead your eye to the paper crane. Nancy Archival paper, gesso, watercolor, acrylic paint, pencil, wax, collage papers. vertical

As I have mentioned on a number of my new pieces. This year has been an excellent one. I just delivered paintings to a company. Of which 12 were chosen for purchase. September 29, 2023 I have a one person show opening and will consist of approximately 30 pieces. October 6, 2023 I will be delivering another 35 pieces for a one person exhibition titles "Facets". During the remainder of 2023 I have been invited to 5 other invitationals which will hang 3 - 8 pieces each. And I am turning 70 in November. During the end of September, 21-29 I will be traveling on business and pleasure. During that one week period I will not be available to ship paintings. All paintings are available until they are marked unavailable or sold. Thank you for your ongoing support .
