This beautiful animal is the idyllic and utopic dream of freedom, unobtainable in the real world, yet which is expressed by the artist through her unique method of painting. The author captures with great ease the agility and elegance of her subject matter in movement, whether it be a horse rearing or a herd galloping, always with their manes and tails flying freely through the air, giving the painting a dynamic vitality that brings the horses to life".

Janette Lockett was born in Yorkshire, England in 1963. Her passion for horses developed as a young child. Having found the perfect setting for her creative talent in Andalusia, Spain, she began her career as a self-taught equestrian artist and has had much success with her work internationally. Janette paints with a unique style using pastels. Known primarily for her equestrian paintings, Art Equus, Janette also paints ethereal nudes in shades of grey.
