ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is a portrait of John Lennon in connection with his song "Imagine", as part of my "Songs" series.The songtext is written on CDs, which are integrated in the acrylic paint around his head, as a symbolic way to represent his thoughts. Down to the bottom of the canvas the colors ale slightly vanishing, as they are more strong in the face, with visible brush marks, and have to catch the viewers eye on the first view. On the bottom of his throat I painted a switch - wich I wanted to give the illusion of an old electric switch - with the words- " Music on - world off". This is where I see the great power of his music and imagination.
