Easily the most riddling & evocative piece in my current catalogue. I’ve received a lot of emotionally driven feedback from my colleagues about the dualities and apparent extremes of this painting.

Personally, I see an explosion. The fall of an empire. The Washington Memorial tumbling over. A volcano violently erupting. I see the idea of something magnificent coming to a inexorable and cataclysmic end from some catapulted object of destruction. Something along these lines.

One friend told me he saw “undead love” and something to do with Dracula written into the cavernous and moody shapes. Another described the sentiment of the image as a whole as, “all the things you want to love about hell”.

I just say that whatever it is everything was just perfect 10 minutes ago… and then all of the sudden KaBooooooooom!
