Painting: Oil on Canvas.
This painting has been realized from a picture taken in the sixties of JFL’s grandfather.
With a range of colors from brown to blue, JFL give softness to his subject. His geometrical style give strength necessary because the patient’s life depend on his surgeon. The face is deliberately geometrical and without any emotion in ordre not to give gravity to what he is doing.
With a white hat, blue gloves and without any surgical tools, the observer could even recognize a baker.
All my paintings are unframed but do not need it to be hung on a wall. Each one is surrounded by a ribbon in order to cover the nails and a hook has been placed behind the canvas.
For this painting, the ribbon is Navy Blue.
