About The Artwork

'Landescape' is mix of the real and fantastical. On the left is a huge tulip with an enlarged stem on which sits a woodpecker. In the middle of the picture sits a tree trunk n which sits a rose-like object in the shape of a deciduous tree. On the right of the picture is a huge sun flower-like plant but with sagging molten orbs as florets. An ornate wooden terrace coming in from the right gives perspective to the picture and ends abruptly in the wooden tree. These flowers and trees sit on a dark grassy knoll on which weeds and country flowers have grown. Where the knoll ends a vast grass plain takes the viewer to a range of snow-capped mountains and a blue sky on which floats a huge distressed cloud. So the familiar and unfamiliar are mixed in an enticing but uneasy work
