About The Artwork

Here is another one from a series of famous Parisian cafes. Les Deux Magots - a cafe located on the Paris Saint-Germain boulevard, in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district, in the 6th arrondissement, famous for its popularity among the literary and intellectual elite of Paris. The cafe hosted intellectuals and artists, incl. Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Ernest Hemingway, Albert Camus, Pablo Picasso and Bob Welch. Les Deux Magots awards the Prix des Deux Magots literary award, which dates back to 1933. The name of the cafe comes from two wooden statuettes representing Chinese salesmen (Fr. Magots), which are located on one of the pillars of the cafe. Since the painting shows cafes at night, I decided to add some Vincent Van Gogh accents to it.

I am a graduate of the Faculty of Painting at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Poland. After graduation, I started my career in the creative industry working for several companies. Then I graduated from Interior Architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland and I started interior design. While working on many projects, I returned to my roots. That is, in my completed projects, I put my own pictures and painted polychrome. It was a turning point for me. I decided that I want to return to painting. I love challenges. This is why I throw myself into various topics that must be a challenge for me and an opportunity to show emotions. I am inspired by nature, the surrounding reality, travels, people and animals. Currently, I paint various techniques: oil, acrylic and watercolor. For several years, I have been teaching freehand drawing and painting students at the Faculty of Architecture in Lublin. My works are in private collections in Poland, France and Sweden. I take part in Auctions of Young Art in Poland.
