About The Artwork

"The true value of a human being can be found in the degree to which he has attained liberation from the self." -Albert Einstein The artist dreams of a freedom and infuses his feelings of impermanence as in his own life. Multitudes of relationships have marked his journey from childhood to adulthood, with parents, siblings, friends and lovers. Their memories leave an impression that slowly wash away with time. There is only one that stays and that is the relationship to self. "Like the cloth blown by the wind, breaking free and flying high In the sky- free and lively, I too dream of that freedom. Your embrace and warmth shall stay, So will your scent The nurturing smile And the seductive gaze, but all this is impermanent. I shall be free again, Just as I came Vanishing in eternity” The painting has rich tones of red and yellow-orange. The cloth and the mat is a white on yellow under paint. The sky is green-yellow over cerulean blue. The painting is painted with thin and medium brush strokes. The acrylic paint is from Grumbacher and Winson & Newton. The image is as close to the painting, there may be a slight color adjustment on the digital scale. The painting is sold in carefully packed shipping to US and International market. The painting is hand signed by the artist and will be sold with letter of authenticity signed by the artist. The art is not framed. The artist suggests going with a Black or a Golden Frame for aesthetics and room decor.

"It does not matter what you see, it matters how you see it." -Shourabh Mukherji aka TheModernCubist Shourabh Mukherji is a New Jersey based Contemporary Cubist painter and Board Member at the Center for Contemporary Arts. A self-taught artist whose works are inspired by masters such as Pablo Picasso, FN Souza and MF Hussain. The theme of the artist's work is to evoke vivid, raw and unadulterated emotions. It would be prudent to say that the artist speaks a language of eroticism, a much tantric vibe and one that is primal. Yes, there are no filters for "social adjustments" in the artist's manifestations. The deep emotions of desire and pleasures transcend the casual norms into a more spiritual transcendence through his art. The man and woman become equal participants in the amorous relationship. As Picasso would say- "All you can imagine is real", so are these art forms thus molding themselves and evolving higher realms of passion. The highlights in the artist's creations are distinct line work in black and use of bold colors- with minimal or no mixing. The style is a culmination of Geometric and Figurative Abstraction. The Artist has coined the term "Sculptural Cubism". A derivative of neo-Cubism style in red. Most of Shourabh's art is sold to private collectors in US and abroad. Shourabh has exhibit his work in solo and group exhibits in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and North Carolina. His paintings have appeared in Art Magazines in NYC and LA.
