Like A Dream Painting

Melek KÜÇÜKOĞLU The artist graduated from Izmir Dokuz Eylul University Fine Arts Faculty Painting Department; she still works as a Graphics Teacher at the Ministry of National Education. The artist was away from painting for many years as a result of a traffic accident. The whispers in him, which is the reason for holding on to life, caused him to regain his health. The artist, who always feels deeply the fact that every bittersweet moment of life is for us, and hugs life tightly, named his second exhibition “Whispers”. He has been continuing his painting works since 2015. He has participated in various solo and group exhibitions. His works are in domestic and international collections. The artist, who is also interested in poetry, continues his works in his workshop in Izmir. The artist, who adopts a style of "natural abstraction inclination", resorts to a way of expression with a color sensitivity that makes him privileged; not only in the field of application of painting, but also in mixed materials and applications. Developing a unique painting and shaping approach, the artist has also created some remarkable experiments derived from this color sensitivity. It adopts a unique style. Shapes, lines, sometimes in focus, sometimes in focus, and colors change with the seasons. Images sometimes emerge in whispers from below the surface. He develops most of his paintings intuitively, purely instinctively and at the natural pace of painting, without preconceptions, sketches and foresight. His paintings take on the different colors of the season by dancing with lines on surfaces enriched with the balance of light and dark, in the balance of texture and form, and in moving and calm transitions. Sometimes he gives place to the sensuality of light and tries to recognize and understand the fascinating qualities of the ever-dynamic world. He shapes his works in his moving, abstract paintings, on richly layered surfaces that are constantly breathing and manipulated. Areas that are as mysterious as they are visible, as active as they are static, and energetic; mark, line, texture etc. While connecting them with each other, it sometimes lingers in the picture, gets trapped in the lines, and the thought leaves its place to curiosity. Pictures begin with risks and uncertainties. It is open to possibilities, deviations, directions and directions. Anything can happen on surfaces where the outcome is not yet known.
