The works making up the collection entitled From Jackson to Jackson feature the use of the dripping technique juxtaposed to written quotes from this great American artist. This painting is part of a trilogy. I was inspired by the phrase of a critic who, speaking of Jackson Pollock, referred to his existence as a drama in three acts: 1930-47. He searches for himself- 1947-50. He finds himself- 1950-56. He loses himself. The idea of working on Pollock’s production came to my mind a few years ago, after seeing his first paintings realized with the revolutionary dripping technique displayed in Venice, at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, and a couple of months later in New York. In those years I had begun my research on a form of painting able to convey the energy and force involved in the creative act. I was working on the concept of space. A space without a centre. Or even better, where anything could become the centre, allowing the spectator to enter the painting from any point. I would resort to shapes and colours that could go beyond the boundaries set by the frame, and lay my canvas on the floor in order to be able to circle them. Pollock was a true revelation. I normally paint my works inside nature, in open space like mountains or forests. After I finish them inside or outside my studio.

I am an italian artist. After studying at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, I divided my time between teaching and artistic research. I live and work in Milan but I have my studio on Lake Orta where I paint completely immersed in nature. The work of years with blind people has opened the way to an art linked to the senses. My sculptures are to be perceived with all the senses but tactile research and attention to matter are the constants that are also found in pictorial works. I am focused on the concepts of space and abstraction. Stones, sand, wood, natural and artificial elements are some of the materials incorporated on the surface of the canvas, transforming the viewer's perception. My art is material: rhythmic surfaces, with depressions, corrugations, swellings that are constantly modulated by light not so much to have plastic effects as to create sensory sensations. Often I dance around the canvas disposed on the floor. The photographs and my installations instead deal with social and environmental issues related to respect for human rights and the development of an ecological conscience. I have won numerous international awards including the "11th Julia Margaret Cameron Award", an international photography contest dedicated only to women photographers , with a portfolio dedicated to gender identity research. I have been invited to collaborate with Art Beyond Sight, exhibiting, in 2007 and 2009, multisensory sculptures and installations at the Metropolitan Museum in New York. New York, Paris, London, Berlin, Barcelona, Turin, Venice, Milan, Rome are some of the cities where I have exhibited my works.
