SHIPPING AND RETURNS

I work from press photos or news feed video. I choose a scene then a reenact it with myself as the main character(s) and I chose a pose I like that I paint. I'm trying to connect to extreme scene we see in the news from day to day, and try to make a connection.

David Lebel is a painter born in Quebec in 1972. He has been drawing since childhood and is first fascinated by rock and comics. He was introduced to painting by books from the family library like "Dialogue with the visible" René Huyghe, works by Rubens and Hugo inks. These sources stimulate and feed his explorations in drawing. He began painting in 1994 at Cegep Sainte-Foy as with Professor Don Darby and Jocelyn Gasse. He exhibited his work later a few times. During the 90s and in 2000 he initiated and participated in several musical projects, creates a cartoon composes music for multimedia projects. From 1998 to 2007, it is devoted primarily to his graphic designer career while producing CD with his group and Rhino as a solo singer. In 2007 he actively resumed painting. He then discovers new pictorial ways and renews his passion for contemporary painters. In this new beginning comes a series of atypical self-portraits that question the relationship between intimacy, ubiquitous communication tools and paint. David Lebel is a curious artist who likes to constantly explore with different mediums: painting, drawing, design, music, animation and video games. They feed it and feed reflection are pictorial work.
