This art work is part of Meditation Series.
Meditation 2 is the search for silence through the essentials. Aims at a deep connection with our essence. Only the present exists. Accompanies a state of harmony, peace and tranquility.

With the acrylic colors I used a medium that makes the colors more brilliant and nuanced specially when the light hits the surface directly as can be seen from the photos in detail. The colors remain opaque in the presence of diffused light.

About Meditation series..
About Meditation series..
The word meditate derives from the Latin "meditari", "mederi" which means generally an intense concentration of the mind on an object of thought, with the aim of understanding its essence. The word meditation derives also from the Latin “meditatio” which is generally considered a practice that is used to achieve mastery in the concentration of a single thought, interrupting the normal chatter of the mind, calming it and making it peaceful. Similar to meditation is contemplation, in which the mind rests in its natural state.
It is a practice present in various forms aimed at self-realization. It has been recognized for many centuries as an integral part of the main oriental traditions, in which the practice of receptive meditation is preferred; that is a 'thoughtless awareness', free from the psychic activity of the human being.
Now even science is able to prove meditation results and benefits.
I had never been interested in meditation until seven years ago, when i faced something almost totally unknown and I was forced to find new tools to metabolize. I felt that nothing would ever be the same, but I had no awareness of the transformation I was experiencing. For some it could be considered a mystical experience, for others simply the discovery, through a new point of view, of realities that are perceptible but not visible to the naked eye, and science (in particular quantum physics) is now able to explain trough modern technologies.
At that moment, finding myself unable to explain these "oddities", I had the sensation of going crazy at times. I began a deep research for a solution, which brought me to the knowledge of meditation practices. As I proceeded towards experimenting different techniques, I realized that Nature had the healing power of meditation on me. Nature could spontaneously lead me into meditative states. Certainly wasn't the first time i observed a flower, a sunrise, a sunset or a landscape. But a new awareness was born within me. Nature could give me peace. My breaths had spontaneously gone deep. My mind didn't need to run here and there: the scents I felt, the colors I saw and the sounds I listened to, gave me serene fullness.
My link with the Earth and Nature has deep roots coming from my childhood, but it is recently that I have a unified vision in which I perceive human being, Nature, science, spirituality and divine as different manifestations of the same essence.
In my artistic research this path translates into putting Nature and Mother Earth first, feeling a strong push towards the need to safeguard it in our contemporaneity. From here it's born the attention in my creations towards the use of mainly organic materials.
From a formal point of view, the minimal approach recalls the concept of essence of Nature of the oriental philosophies and in its simplicity, a Nature free from categorizations of time, space and interpretation. The observer is at the same time an active part of creation, he can fill the white with his personal experience of Nature.
The power of creation of the divine (in my works it is symbolically white, yellow or gold light), actually resides within each of us, and reveals the inseparable link with everything that surrounds us, as a manifestation of the Divine Nature in everything.
