About The Artwork
This piece has won best in show and various other awards when exhibited. It is a painting that I was very specific in attempting to convey a non gender aspect. It is comprised of many layers with the use of gel mediums. Then the face was applied with a combination of fluid and hard body acrylics. The fluids were done in a gestural manner to keep the portrait loose. Colors were applied and scrubbed for blending purposes. The gaze is non specific as well. This gives the viewer the liberty of creating their own story.
