About The Artwork
It is inspired in Metropolis the classic film by Fritz Lang . In this work I intend to simplify the shape, the line and the colour to make a minimalist and balanced design. It is made on duck cotton canvas treated with casein glue for the base and also diluted with acrylic paint.

Annabel Andrews was born in the Isle of Wight in 1940 now lives and works in El Escorial near Madrid Spain, where the colour, light and volumes of the mountains inspire her work. As also her friendship with the late Spanish artists Pablo Palazuelo and Jose Guerrero. By preparing her own canvases with home made casein glue base and zinc white the work is light and luminous ready for applying acrylic colours.
