Amidst the battle for our focus, advertisers now wield creativity as their sword, delving into psychology and emotions to breach our defenses and find a home within our minds. As the digital world advances, ridding ourselves of these ingrained stories becomes a tougher endeavor. For me, liberation comes as I transfer these commercial imprints onto canvas, freeing my subconscious. I find a strong affinity for working on paper purging my thoughts about consumerism. The interplay of mistakes, delicate drips, and watercolor-esque brush strokes impregnate the paper with a capacity to absorb and retain these elements, perfectly encapsulating spontaneous thoughts and ideas. This process easily mirrors the flow of my ideas when the creative faucet is opened...

I like to use iconic fine art master-works juxtaposed with current popular culture imagery from advertising, comic books, logos, ect. to create social awareness in the times we live in. By splicing these contrasting images from different time periods, the subject matter takes on new impetus of preconscious intensity not found in simplistic or direct commentary art. I like to further entice my viewers with palatable compositions, textures, bright colors, and unexpected images. I received my BFA, Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from San Francisco State University and had the amazing opportunity to study under both professor/working artist, Richard Mclean & Paul Pratchenko.
