PLEASE NOTE: There is slight damage to the top right corner of this painting. It is not very noticeable when it is hanging on a wall (because it is a black corner) but can be seen when laying horizontally. This painting is acrylic and watercolour on canvas board. This piece was inspired by my yoga and meditation practice. When I place my hands to my Third Eye at the end of yoga, I feel this sacred comfort and I wanted to illustrate that feeling, along with the feeling of almost merging with the energy in the air around me when I am deep in meditation. There is something beautiful about seeing yourself as energy just like everything else around us and it gives a temporary escape from our worldly worries.

I'm Simone Elliot and I come from a small village in the Scottish Borders but I am an avid traveler. I am currently (and temporarily) in the Aberdeen (thanks CoVid19). All of my art is inspired by life, by the issues that face me at the time of painting - so each piece is very unique, emotional and personal. I paint to express my feelings about things and in the hope that what I communicate, resonates with you as the viewer. I am influenced by the work of artists like Jack Vettriano, who use dramatic lighting to convey a mood. However I am inspired by any artist that can make people feel something with their works, can prompt conversations between people or communicate with people in some way. I am most confident using acrylic paint on canvas but I experiment with other media too.
