About The Artwork

Description: This work i start from 2014 and finished in 2023, yes i know this is a long time for work on it. becouse i'm stressed work with this theme/ This is describes rice fields, gardens, forests and waters, the sea in Indonesia which continues to be eroded by the progress of time. All of this has been displaced and a great many have gone extinct due to industrialization, without thinking about the tomorrow of the consequences it will get. There is oil that spills into the ocean due to human carelessness and greed, there are also vast stretches of rice fields with their windmills that will be flooded in the rainy season. There are also burning fires and wires ready to pounce on life. There are also other planets that melt because they will be exploited by humans.

Dedi Dwi Utomo a.k.a Jured for all the names in his paintings, Born in Bandung 1979. Studying at the Indonesian College of Art and Design (STISI), now the Institute was bought by STT Telkom, studying Interior Design from 1998 – 2002 Bandung, West Java. After that, he studied Graphic Design again at the Indonesian College of Fine Arts and Design (ASDI) Surakarta, Central Java. Jured has known punk bands since junior high school and he started forming a punk band when he was in senior high school with the name Disreputable, and then formed a Hardcore Punk band with the name Resist. Which Resist took him to various cities and abroad country. Jured has known graffiti and street art since he was in junior high school in 1991-1992. At that time he knew in school lessons about stencils. Then he practiced directly taking to the streets with pictures of Metallica's personnel faces which coincided with the release of the Black album. Then he started to study street art and graffiti when he was 19 years old when he started studying at STISI. He started make street art and graffiti anywhere from Bandung, Jakarta, Surabaya, Bali, Medan, Padang, Lampung, Malaysia, Singapore to Germany. But unfortunately at that time he was not aware of the importance of documentation in each of his works. The first time it was documented was in 2002-2003 when he had moved to study in Surakarta. And even that wasn't all documented because he himself didn't have a good camera. The only camera he had was a Canon AE1 analog camera, which at that time he was still learning to use, and there were lots of photos of him that were burnt or not finished hahaha. Then he started painting on canvas in 2006 because he was friends with many artists in Surakarta, so he became interested and learned to paint on canvas. Apart from that, he also learned to make sculptures with his fellow artists who studied at ISI Surakarta and Yogyakarta. In 2002 he formed a Grunge band with the name Lajur Kiri. Lajur Kiri often performs at art events and underground stages. This grunge band also formed a bit of his expressionist and abstract works. Since middle school Jured was known as a naughty boy who always sold drugs until he went to college in Surakarta. So it's no wonder that he always get a trouble, double trouble and had problems with the police and went to prison 13 times.
