About The Artwork
In this series of paintings called “e.strange”, young people are paired with beautiful horses offering a commentary on the effects of modern communication devices contrasted with the ‘old world’ origins of the equestrian portrait. I found my students to be "intentionally disengaged" while on their cell phones and oblivious to the world around them and so created this series. Each painting portrays a seemingly contradictory set of parallel worlds, yet the two subjects, human and horse, are subtly connected through their unique personalities and appearance.
