About The Artwork
I always try to create some kind of tension in my work. A tension in technique (breaking the painting with dashes of color that don't belong).but also in the choice of subject (is the woman a victim or an assailant?). A viewer once said one of my works reminded him of a poster of "a Korean revenge movie" and I think that is a very good way of describing a lot of my works. The woman often could be victims who lash back.I like the idea that when viewing you don't know if she is one or the other.
