About The Artwork

Originally painted in 2002 using collaged handmade papers with acrylic paint and then developed digitally in 2020. This was created as an image of hope in dark times. "Nuannaarpoq" in an Inuit word meaning "to take a rapturous delight in being alive". The name was inspired by the book "Wild" by Jay Griffiths.

Born in 1975 in SW London, Suzybee (Suzanne Brady) is a painter and animator living and working in the beautiful countryside of Mid-Wales. Suzybee is inspired by a deep respect for the natural world, music, and the experience of timeless, magical moments. Her painting style involves collaging handmade papers, while bringing out form and detail in acrylic paint. She welcomes commissions, including portraits of humans and other animals. A passion for music and dance has led her to combine her visual art with music. She has painted backdrops for music events, designed posters and album covers, and makes hand-drawn digital animations which she mixes in a live improvised audio-visual performance with her musician partner, Steevio. Suzybee makes canvas prints of her paintings and selected still images from her animations.
