About The Artwork
I have always had a great love of graffiti, and respect for its writers. From the 70's when I wrote Cha-Cha (complete with skateboard underneath) on every surface I could find, I've been fascinated by the way we see, and seek meaning in, graffiti differently than other writing--a concept that is part of my larger obsession with language and symbols. This painting examines how we as viewers of art seeks paths towards a discreet understanding of the unknowable.
