Framed in arched frame which follows the contour of the piece: 73.25 x 59.5 in. Thirteenth in a series of pieces called Paracletes, meaning spirits that manifest themselves in the form of a bird. this piece has as its subject science, observation and evidence and particularly the limits of science or observation.So the bird is in an observatory that could also be a cage to underline the limits of our situation and perceptions. This is not to suggest anything paranormal or spiritual necessarily as it is the natural limits of being human.
