ABOUT THE ARTWORK

My work attracts people who are looking for authenticity, every painting captures a moment in time, frozen forever on the canvas. Each work is made using a sledgehammer to cause an explosion with paint; expanding and accenting the infinite variety of forms and colors present in nature. Modern color formations are in fluorescent pink and red on blue. My paintings are a struggle; each one a balancing act between color, shape, line, surface, space, abstraction and object. Every time you look at one of my works you will notice something; a small nuance or intricacy that you did not see before, it will brighten up your day and become an endless source of inspiration for your life. I want for you to see a starting point and perhaps get momentarily lost; I hope that you will dream. ______________________________________________ One of a kind, and Limited Edition Series; with a signed certificate of authenticity. Painted with high quality heavy body acrylic so you really can feel the structure and witness the vibrancy of the color... Arrives ready to hang on your wall!, the sides are painted; it will be signed and dated by Chris Crewe in permanent marker. ______________________________________________ Copyright © 2020 Chris Crewe - All Rights Reserved.

« I hope you will see a starting point and maybe get a bit lost: I hope that you will dream. » Emerging artist Chris Crewe compares life to a trapeze act. Always knowing that the next rung will be there, he hasn't fallen yet. The Canadian artist has been studying the use of sledgehammer as a paintbrush, replicating marks, and incorporating them into his abstract works. Crewe also makes paint markers out of plastic bottles by melting the plastic to turn the lid into a spout, often using them to draw in free-flowing gestures. His unique works are meant to 'brighten your day'.
