Precarious Balance, Limited Edition 1/10 Painting

Abstract digital painting, contemporary, expressionistic. The painting displays slightly overlapping simple organic shapes against a multi-colored but unifying background. It sensitizes the eye to the precarious balance of these shapes that is articulated not only by the degree of their overlap but also the interior coloring of the shapes and the fact that the shapes are suspended over half-circles that seem to uphold them. There is a contrast between the roughness of the background and the smoothness of the shapes themselves. The balance is also one of the colors themselves as protagonists whose arrangement introduces additional but contained tension. Technically, the painting resulted from an intuitive merger of spontaneous gestures with algorithmic processes guided by the artist. The work is printed on Hot Press Fine Art Smooth Bright White paper (an acid free, 100% cotton rag media with a bright textured finish, yielding an extremely high color gamut and black density). It is signed and numbered by the artist, accompanied by a CoA, and shipped without hanging hardware, in a very sturdy tube protected against folding and puncture.
