About The Artwork

I grew up in the 80's and was fascinated by the Transformers, the comic series. And like many others from this decade, i started playing computergames with the first Super Mario. After this we got 16 bit, 32, 64.. Seeing this change so fast all these years to what the games look like today inspired me for sure but it also made me realise that in some years we will be able to create life as we experience it today but then in a virtual world. That raises the question, and the Matrix played its part, was life created by computers. Either way, i respect life a lot and with this painting i hope to inspire others. Techniques used: I draw by hand on paper, scan it in and then work it out with Photoshop. The artwork will be finished with the use of the most modern printing techniques available today. About HD metal: Transfer printing onto metal is a new, cutting edge, way to reproduce an image. While being subjected to extreme heat and pressure, the dyes from the transfer paper turn into a gas, are pressed into the surface of the metal, and then solidify into the treated aluminum. The unique thing is that the gloss level of the metal is fully preserved, which results in an unbelievable picture quality. Edition of 3.

Dominic Brown is a visual artist from Rijswijk, The Netherlands. The archaeological sites, drawings and symbols he discovers on his journeys to far away places form his primary source of inspiration. Much of his work draws on the 5000 year old murals and hieroglyphs he has visited while traveling through Egypt. His inspiration, however, is not only fueled by the Egyptian sights he has seen. Early in life, Dominic found himself inspired by the rich Turkish culture and Greek mythology. As he got older he also developed a fascination for the Mayan mysteries and Incan civilizations. He sees the eccentric masks from Africa as a way of communicating with the past. He believes that the emotion or message that an artist wanted to express many hundreds or thousands of years ago could not have been transferred more vividly than through a painting, drawing or a symbol. The lines and colors used by the artist elicit a certain emotion from the audience. With the use of his own lines and colors, Dominic, too, seeks to communicate with people throughout the world ." According to him, something that does not have a time or language barrier will never perish.
