Contact us.My work is based on existential philosophy. It is the journey of finding our own existence throughout our lives from past to current moment. It is also a process of healing our wounds. My work consists of several repetitive processes. After a primary set of work on the canvas where I build a thick matière, I repeat the actions of painting, scratching off and covering it back until I find it satisfactory. The whole process is a harsh set of work but it also heals my pain and agony, which fills me up and empties out at the same time.
My paintings tell the story of myself. My works are fossilized memories of my past. Those are in my big front yard where I used to play all day long, wide beach of the West Sea and its horizon. There are many animals that I enjoyed observing; cows, birds, turtles, fishes and so on. However, the materials that I used should considered neither as the way it looks to our ordinary eyes nor mere material from the nature. I wanted them to represent my view about this world and tell to embrace our own lives with strong affection. Some of materials that I used are considered as auspicious beings. Ancestors from various cultures have continuously generated sacred and auspicious beings to express their wishes and desires. I believe this is because of the strong will and affection to their lives. However, due to the complex and highly competitive modern society, people are getting very unhappier and drawn to skeptical views. That is why I am working with a hope that people could feel the ultimate energy of our beings and true existence of ourselves by reflecting them through those images that I depicted so that they could love their lives more intensely again.
