About The Artwork

2020 has been an unforgettable year for the entire globe. I have noticed that makers in all creative fields-from baking to art are using the rainbow as a means to communicate wonder, nostalgia and a break from tragedy. The rainbow is also a symbol of the end of a storm -- and in our times the hope to the end of Covid. Children hung hand painted rainbows in their home windows for nurses and medical field workers in a collective treasure hunt of endless rainbows. In my series of Rainbow Trees, the tree becomes the physical, non-ephemeral embodiment of the rainbow. In my landscape of fantasy, if a tree can become a rainbow, than the painting can be a physical symbol of unlimited possibility in our imagination.
