About The Artwork

I travel full time as a tattoo artist thats been on the road for the last 8 years, aiming for a decade of traveling. In the process I have been trying to cross all of the seven seas. This is from a series of 3 painted on my seafaring adventures in 2018. This one while crossing the Indian Ocean. I love to do multiple original additions of the same piece, the repetition makes the subtle differences between them a puzzle in your mind, as an artist and a collector. This was painted in the tradition of traditional tattoo flash, ink and watercolor that would be hung on the tattoo shop walls to sell designs to customers. Painting and doing line work while at the mercy of Poseidon and his seas are much more intense at times while the ship careens and moves with the sea, making these far more special than something I could have completed on land.

I am a traveling tattooer who has been exclusively on the road for the last 8 years, tattooing from country to country all around the world through many wondrous cultures, places, experiences and close calls. Never forgetting the perpetual crisis of being a broke artist trying to maintain the ability to eat while continually looking for a new job ever few months. I have set a goal to continue this way for a decade to match Odysseus, and these last couple years as I am getting older its certainly becoming more difficult. I have always have been obsessively compelled to create, so much so that like many artists, I sleep very little. I write daily and experiment with new ideas often, my background is in digital design and film but i have a desire to get my hands dirty while creating art. I really enjoy block printing and mix media like spray paint and watercolor. Recently I have been working in 3d Design and with an entirely new aspect to my artistic endeavors. I tattoo for a living and have been for the last ten years. Tattoo flash is a dying art, something vital to the history of the industry and dating back to the beginnings of electric tattooing. It's an interesting subculture, tattooing and the insights it gives the artist into sociological trends in design and human thought. In its current renaissance tattooing has become less and less an outlet for creativity; since anyone can purchase all they need to open a tattoo shop on Amazon. Because of that decline in creativity and the rise of the Pinterest tattoo, I have been working more and more on projects while I ramble around the world trying to fund my wild adventuring.
