My paintings begin with the human face, but do not end with likeness.
I use the portrait to explore the space between observation and imagination.
I create contemporary portraits in which the human face serves as a starting point for exploring emotions, identity, and the inner world. I am not interested merely in faithfully capturing a likeness; I treat the face as a space where the invisible can be expressed.
My paintings begin with the human face, but do not end with likeness. I transform portraiture through geometric planes, fragmented forms and expressive colour, creating figures that exist somewhere between reality and an imagined inner world.
The women in my paintings are often self-contained, introspective and enigmatic.
Rather than idealising the figure,
I use colour, structure and abstraction to reveal something less visible — a mood, a thought or a moment of inward reflection.
My work includes geometric and surreal portraits alongside quieter, intimate paintings. Across these different approaches, the human figure remains the central point of my artistic language.
