I am E. A. CHILE, a Nigerian contemporary artist and writer working primarily in mixed media, painting, and experimental visual forms. My practice explores identity, memory, culture, human resilience, social realities, and the stories embedded in everyday African life.
My work draws inspiration from African experiences, cultural symbolism, silhouettes, found materials, geometric forms, and the relationship between the physical and spiritual worlds. Through the combination of unconventional materials and expressive imagery, I seek to create works that invite reflection while maintaining a distinctive visual character.
My artistic practice is guided by Uzormmuo, a creative philosophy that embraces freedom of expression and the exploration of different artistic forms. I approach each work as an opportunity to communicate ideas, preserve stories, challenge perceptions, and create connections across cultures.
Alongside my visual art practice, I am a published fiction writer. Literature and visual art inform one another in my work, allowing me to approach images as narratives and materials as carriers of meaning.
I welcome opportunities to connect with collectors, galleries, and audiences interested in contemporary African art, mixed-media experimentation, and work that explores the complexities of human experience.
