About The Artwork
The work was originally conceived on paper with ink and watercolors and pencil. Then I photographed it, scanned it and worked on it digitally for the final outcome. Every once in a while. I just start a composition with a basic idea and a feeling of what I'd like to explore, then I follow, from that point on. This work had no particular destination other than I wanted to create something that felt would be a cool place to go to and visit. So I went there using my imagination and this is what I saw. This might sound weird, maybe not, but sometimes when I'm working on certain art projects, I'm actually inside them in a different realm. I know I'm here on the physical plane of life, but. it is as if I also step into another physical place at the same time. A place that nobody else can see, except me. So I paint or sculpt what I see there.

Painting and sculpting for over 50 years. Started in the early 1960's. Joined the Merchant Marines in my early twenties and set off to paint and draw around the world. Hitchhiked around Europe and Morocco for about a year and met wonderful artists in many places. Highlight was visiting Salvador Dali at his home in Spain. Back in the 70's it was much safer to hitchhike and camp out as you journeyed and I ventured around for about a year meeting wonderful young artists. Through the years, I've worked many jobs, in factories, offices etc. Eventually became a general contractor, however, the one thing I always did was keep my love of painting and sculpting. Had many art shows in the Los Angels area for about 30 years, managed to break new ground every once in a while, get acclaimed in the Art Realm for 15 seconds by the media, then relegated back onto the treadmill. Such is the life of artists who are in it for the Long Run. It's Cool, Is what it is and I've no complaints.
