Säulenarbeit II_Umklammerung Painting

This painting is the second work of a whole cycle (aesthetic of plastics), consisting of more than 30 works (paintings, drawings, Videos). In this special case "Säulenarbeit II" I played with a scarf made of plastic and using it as bridel veil, intending to develop a female creation of a new canon of arthistory. Referring to Canons, mostly written by men, as Georgio Vasari. I developped this cycle during an artist in residence stay, where I had to protect the walls and floors with plastic wrap which annoyed me in the 1st place. Then I started to play and saw the beauty of plastic in the wind. The paynes gray colour underlines the greek antique architecture, which is positioned as THE beauty (although the color of grey and white isn't true). First I produced a video work, where I danced with the plastic wrap and played with the idea of a women arthistory canon birth also referring to Hans-Georg Gadamer and his hermeneutic interpretion of history.
