Same Day, Different Year Painting

Often the ideas behind my work come from a starting point of something happening in my daily life, either something I am directly involved in, something relevant to that day, or an event that may have been in the news or on TV. She was born on the same day as me, but a different year. The same decade though, but she was younger. She was beautiful, really beautiful, with an amazing smile. She was so bubbly and full of life. She was cheeky and full of laughter. Her friends and family adored her, and for a while she was at the top of her career Sadly she struggled with mental health issues, and took her own life to escape the unbearable stress caused by fame and the tabloids. RIP, CF. This is dedicated to you, my fellow Scorpio. xxx Mixed media painting of acrylic paint, acrylic ink, acrylic markers, watercolor, collage, transfers, pastel and pencil, gallery wrapped canvas. Signed and dated on the back, and ready to hang. Some of the neon colors within the painting are slightly brighter in real life. The pink, orange, and some of the green is painted with neon/fluorescent paint which does not photograph quite as vivid as the original, although overall the photographs are true to the real colors of the original.
