Season of the Witch, Tea Painting

Season of the Witch, Tea, is based on a concept on how modern day witches live with old school magic. In literature, witches are depicted as old and vengeful hags. In my fantasy illustration I depict them as strong, normal women with old school magic. This was inspired from my history and literature studies. Tea is also a form of magic as it brings harmony during and after tea time. Tea in oriental culture is also used as traditional cures. I hope the viewers will feel calm energy and vibrancy when they see this illustration up in their walls. I mostly use watercolor in my art as the blend of water and paint on my works brings harmony in colors. I chose this subject style because I follow the moods of the season and my imagination runs with it. My background is in comics illustration and I want to showcase my piece in that form when I tell a story. It may be pragmatic at first impression but look closely and you can get a sense and feel of the work- even transported.
