In order to understand and interpret the “Silent Scream" series of, you need emotional, reflexive involvement. Usually, when we listen to someone, we expect to receive information about both the sender and ourselves, and that the meeting will somehow change us in its impact. It is the same with artworks, when we approach a artwork, we expect it to tell us something, to teach us, and if we listen to it, the artwork is very likely to change us. Do we often 'listen', sometimes or usually do we choose what to say because that encounter means 'suspending' one's own prejudices... and this requires a willingness to recognize the other as potentially correct and to allow him to convey what he has to say. This series is about hearing and not being heard, it personifies the muffled cry of human destinies and phenomenal. Looking at the melted faces, you listen to the screaming silence, they allow you to feel, taste, touch the emptiness that remains unheard, unperceived, after being annihilated... after loss. The series allows meeting them to change each of us, to be able to relate to another's loss. Imagining their pain as we explore our own. Think about what we see in the void. In this crossing of horizons we go through analyzing our conscience and our unconscious. By moving between them within ourselves, we can prepare ourselves to meet and listen to the other outside of us.

Traveling in abstraction, postmodernist, figurative, expressive and neorealist genres, the artist-musician-composer, Hayk Grigoryan discovered his artistic abilities during the difficult time of pandemic and war. In this isolation, uncertainty and idleness, the artist redefined himself when paper and gouache suddenly appeared in his hand. The uncertainty and stillness of life turned into discovery and new world of art. 150 canvases later, his creations are like his music: bright improvisations of delicate emotional balance with rhythmic and stormy transitions and intelligent presentation. With the trumpet in one hand and the brush in the other, Hayk re-creates colorful melody by crystallizing reality. Presented in the permanent collection of the Yerevan Modern Art Museum .
