slowly breaking through a daylight Painting

This painting is of a calm overcast morning. It's title came from the words in one of the many great Coldplay songs Daylight that I would have listened to while painting it. I like the monotone shade and colour of this painting. The boats in the painting are couta boats. Couta comes from the word Barracouta is a type of boat sailed in Victoria, Australia, around Sorrento and Queenscliff and along Victoria's west coast. It was in used as a fishing boat around the coast there from the 1870s until the 1930s, although it survived as a commercial fishing vessel until the 1950s. These beach scenes are of the same area Point King Sorrento Victoria Australia painted over a year. I focused on painting the area at different times of the day and year.
