About The Artwork

Examining through photographs found on newspapers (or google search) of different militia fighters during the Lebanese civil war that lasted for many years, I couldn't but notice the little details that are related to fashion and style of that period. It is true that many were dressed in the military suit, but were distinguished by their factions, arms and the set of ideologies and ideals they fight under. Some didn't stick to any particular uniform and were armed and trained to fight. My approach to this is experimental in nature and in no way nostalgic or awe specific, it is framed within a research to highlight on collective memories and create an aesthatic exposure that deems to be possible. hese sets of work in progress are made by using newspapers, hence their importance for centuries, as the base for the different shapes, and other materials like cut-outs, tapes, craft paper, polyester, acrylic, ink and others alike.
