"Spiritual Battlefield" Many layers to this painting starting with a stain glass feel and then the sunrise and the moon and night fall. The tribal imagery at the top are heavenly faces and at the bottom demonic tribal warriors. The circles represent spirits and as they fall to the dark side they grow limp and weak. There are two door ways hidden in this piece. One to enter the heavens and one to escape the darkness. The Poem: "Spiritual Battlefield" Shall my prayers receive heaven's respect? as they soar amidst these torrid hours receiving evil's dagger from the oath I reject as I kneel before the eternal towers scarred from battle, I await for the next wave of offense only to be washed ashore the sweet soft sands of innocence rh

I began my artistic endeavor in the mid 80's as a signwriter painting on nearly everything where my ladders and paints would take me. From Storefronts & Billboards to Motorcycles & cars. It wouldn't be until late 90's I would leave the sign industry and began to focus on my own art. I taught myself to use oils on canvas as it allowed me to work on paintings for hours at a time and now months to a year per painting. I am usually surrounded by several paintings that I work on in a cycle as layers dry and cure. From abstracted views with subliminal imagery to realism exposing spiritual beings. My work comes together after hours of study and painted layers. My surrealistic dreams weave an emotional web across the canvas in an array of masculine colors. Not only revealing the purity of the feminine spirit, but as well the spiritual warfare that exist in every soul. I once read if you want to get to know yourself, hop on the nearest streetcar. So many roads have been traveled, some good and some bad but looking back now it is easy to see the journey had to be taken to lead me where I am today. Sometimes you have to wake up to enter the dream. So I stepped onto that streetcar and I am riding it today. So with all my experiences my mind has soaked up over the years, and the blessing with the ability to paint, it all wrings out nicely.
