About The Artwork
The atmospheric discharge from lightening bolts are known as sprites and fairies. They shoot above the clouds into the upper atmosphere and have only recently been photographed. Their effect or function is not yet fully understood. I was inspired by the phenomenon to paint this picture. To me, the motion and uplifting forms of the painting convey a positivity and sense of release.
