About The Artwork
'Stand By Me' is an acrylic painting on canvas. The full moon is textured with hot glue. My lady is walking down a path she has never been before, strewn with autumn colored trees, towards a portal that will take her towards her destiny. She is naked,(except for her mask), representing she has nothing to hide; looking back over her shoulder to see if anyone is willing to follow. Originally I had no intention of having it look this way, but there she is... a representation of me and what is happening currently in my life. Autumn to me represents the dying of the old world; the old ways. I hope my viewers enjoy looking at this as much I do.

About me? I am a single mother, trying to do the best I can. I have birthed four beautiful boys, 3 are living. Since my oldest committed suicide I have been trying to acclimate to life again. It's the same; but it isn't.... I have struggled my entire life to fit into boxes with impossible standards. I have had no formal art education; maybe someday. For now I am just painting what I know, and picking up along the way. Painting to me is an outlet, not a means for survival. While I dance across the line of life and spirituality, I embrace every moment. God is the only reason I have come as far in life as I have; I am the reason I have not gone as far as I could... I am thankful for every view I get, every 'pat on the back' I receive, every critique. I feel that art is ever moving, ever breathing, ever changing. Evolving as the times change.
