Golden acrylic paintings (Manganese Blue Hue, Carbon Black and Titanium White) on linen Talens canvas mounted on a wooden frame (3 cm).

Acrylic paintings are chosen because of their versatility to generate flat surfaces. Each colour area (black-white-blue) has been painted 3-4 times so that the colour shows its pigment. This process also creates reliefs due to accumulation of painting layers.

This artwork might be described as geometric abstraction; they begin as digital images (where I process them in certain ways) till I find the aesthetic forms/families which I am interested in. Once the right ones are chosen, it is about studying/understanding the structure and composition of the digital form, then I am able to manipulate, modify, add, remove, stylize the whole forms till they fit well in the whole composition.

Next step is to delineate and paint them on a canvas through a construction progress where the aim is to create compositions where order, harmony and formal relation constitutes the conceptual meaning of my artwork.

A form and its position on the canvas makes sense when it is related to others, where the formation of elements are fitted in the whole structure. This is the real order (relation); the real harmony. No element, no form is freely drawn and painted, but created on the need to belong to the whole system/composition. Each form is individual, unique; each one retains its own formal identity, but at the same time, each form is how it is in relation to the whole.

Thing is, through art, be able to generate further thoughts about those concepts. Art is knowledge, Art activates not only the aesthetic optic pleasure but also intellect. Art is to discover, to show the unseen and to develop new visions and emotions.

For example, if you are in a rainforest, you will see green everywhere. There is no place unfilled. Also sky is covered by a mass of trees that do not let it be seen. You might think "this is a chaos, there are plants and trees and rotten wood and insects everywhere". But in this chaos (more about the lack of knowledge about the place), the order is found. Each plant, insect, animal (forms) fit in the whole ecosystem (structure), and each one survives in relation to others. Same happens to human organisations: countries, companies, families, people.

This is a law of life.

I will be happy if you can share this vision, if you enjoy my paintings as much as I do. And I will be even happier if you can connect with them and feel positive through this visual experience.
