About The Artwork
This artwork is a Still Life. I enjoy experimenting with new types of subject matter and this was a first for me, but I really enjoyed it. This artwork reminds me of early hours of the morning where the sun is starting to rise and its bright light is slowly lighting up the entire room. I hope this painting gives viewers a sense of warmth and being at home, where the heart is. I chose an expressionistic style of painting because I thought it would be appropriate to express the happiness, playfulness and warmth that this painting entails. I used an impasto painting technique to make the painting come to life and to give it texture. This painting may have been a first for me in terms of subject matter, but I think it had a great outcome!
