About The Artwork
What is reality? Are we living in our own reality? How real is our reality? These are the questions I ask myself and try to answer with my paintings. However, I don’t give precise answers, I only give suggestions of answers which can be understood in different ways, or be interpreted. With this exhibition, I would like to provoke and challenge myself, first to understand my relationship with reality and then to plant the seed to grow in a way that's significant to each spectator. Let’s think together about the following topics: how careful are we about taking ourselves in concert with the range of events around us, how are we interacting with people, with the feelings and emotions we send into the world and what do we receive in return… how are we accepting fate, are we following the current or going against it, are we fully aware of what is happening around us, do we even know what's going on inside of us, to what extent do we want to interact with the world or sit in our bubble… I’ll be happy to hear from you about your reality!

I am Nata Buachidze, an artist from Tbilisi, Georgia, born on 14.10.1967. I grew up in a family of artists and architects, so being an artist is something very natural for me. In 1990, I graduated from Tbilisi State Academy of Arts (Graphic design department), Tbilisi, Georgia. In 1990-1991 I did a training course in Gray’s School of Art (Painting and photography course), Aberdeen, Scotland, UK. I was working as a graphic designer from 1985, first as a freelance designer, then in 1991, in a design company ‘McElroy coats, Edinburg, Scotland, UK and from 1992 to 1996 in an Architectural & Design company, ‘Racurs’, Tbilisi, Georgia - I was painting and taking part in local and international exhibitions at the same time. My artwork is in private collections in Georgia, the USA, the UK, Belgium, Germany, Czechia, France, Norway, Australia. From 1993, I mainly devoted myself to painting, with occasional design commissions. From 1999-present, I established an art school in Tbilisi and had a long pause in my own artistic life as I was mainly involved in the life of the studio and organizing grand exhibitions connected with my art studio. Since 2017, I started intensively working as an artist again.
