About The Artwork
Some of my work, like this one, is very stylistically inspired by the work of Giorgio De Chirico. His pieces have a somber and lonely yet calm feeling which is something I try to evoke in my works as well. However, conceptually this piece depicts my idea of hell's landscape; somber, atmospheric, vast, lonely, concrete, and unknown. More specifically alluding to Purgatorio from Dante's Divine Comedy, for the title comes from the multiple terraces in the poem. The piece brings you into the grey, concrete architecture and into the somber, atmospheric landscape. Because of its form is demands that the viewer walk into the piece and navigate the area depicted; to have a sense of phenomenology but without any physical structures.

I am an artist from Montreal with a Bachelors Degree in Studio Arts at Concordia University. My work focuses on the experience and sense of phenomenology that a work can provoke in someone through architecture, minimalism, and the unknown leaving you with a sense of terror as well as tranquility.
