Jeanne is a free representation of Saint Joan of Arc. Joan holds a stick in her right hand, without knowing whether it is her flag, a spear, or her shepherdess' crook. She is dressed in a large “horizon blue” colored coat, the color of the uniforms of French soldiers from the First World War. (Slight defect in the canvas at the right knees)
