The Girl Behind the Glass Painting

I get my inspiration from my own personal experiences. I try to capture a feeling when I start a painting. In this one I was trying to convey the feeling of being lost in time. The woman is posing in a sun hat which would be a very happy photo but instead of her face, you see a clock with her trapped inside and the glass is broken. She feels lost and stuck. There is a compass on her shoulder to convey she doesn't quite know where to go from here. There are so many options. What I want my viewers to feel what she is feeling. I want to stir up uncomfortable emotions because I believe that is how people grow, when they are uncomfortable. I chose this subject matter because I have often felt lost and stuck and have not known where to turn. I believe I am not alone in this feeling.
