About The Artwork
Religious narratives and symbols have influenced my work since adolescence. I am especially interested in halos, as visual phenomenon, how they are depicted through time and cultures, and their power to transform. This is one interpretation of Mary's narrative - that is, I should say, the narrative attributed to Mary; reverential in technique yet playfully irreverent in concept. It is both questioning and reimagining. Assuming identities is a reoccurring theme which stems from my experience with neurodivergence.

My background in fashion combines with a passion for history (including pre-history) which includes historical paintings. Modern interpretation of classical themes is certainly a developing aspect.
