The Lure Painting

'The Lure' elaborates the art of deception which is used to acquire what we feel we require to make our lives more happy. It may be money, love, power, fame or anything else which we lust after. On the virtual world of internet, many people acquire fake identities and lives to run away from frustrations, problems and insecurities of real life. They get so addicted to their lives on the virtual world that they get more and more entangled in their own dream and when realty bites they are headed for disaster. I have used the imagery of angler fish to define this idea of deception. If two angler fish try to prey on each other, surely the outcome will be disastrous for both or any one of them. The same way, we might prowl around like a predator but end up being the prey! The Lure is about the monsters which hide inside each of us and uses different kinds of temptations to prey on our humanity. I have used watercolor wash on handmade paper and drawn the details with a pen using waterproof ink. NOTE: Custom duty fee if any is payable by the buyer.
